How Selling Your Records Works

How does the process work?
Reach out with a rough record count, the main styles of music you have, and your general area. We'll tell you right away if it sounds like a fit. For larger collections we schedule a house call — we come to you, go through everything by hand, and make a cash offer on the spot. Smaller collections can be dropped off at our Westchester shop.

Do I need to sort or inventory my records first?
No. Don't sort, don't clean, don't pull anything out. Just tell us roughly how many you have and what styles of music. We handle all the evaluation ourselves — going through a collection is our job, not yours.

How quickly will you respond?
Same day, usually within a few hours. Texting photos gets you the fastest response — Brian can often give you a ballpark from photos before we even schedule a visit.

What's the minimum collection size for a house call?
We typically do house calls for collections of 300+ records, but we make exceptions when we're nearby and the titles sound right. Call or text with your count, styles, and zip code and we'll make a plan.

Can I bring records to your store instead?
Yes. Our Westchester shop at 10233 W. Roosevelt Rd. is open for walk-in drop-offs Tuesday and Thursday 10am–2pm. Buying appointments are available 7 days a week, 9am–9pm — call ahead to confirm.

How do you pay?
Cash, on the spot. We go through everything, make a single straightforward offer, and pay immediately — at your home or at the shop. No waiting, no follow-up, no payment processing delays.

What if you don't want everything in my collection?
We'll be upfront about what we're passing on and why. If we can't use certain titles, we'll give you honest advice on what to do with the rest — donate, recycle, or try elsewhere. No pressure either way.

Do you travel outside the Chicago area?
Yes. We make house calls throughout Illinois and into Northwest Indiana and Southwest Michigan. For large or inherited collections, we travel regularly — Rockford, Peoria, Springfield, the collar counties, Gary, and beyond. Call or text with your location and collection size and we'll tell you if we can make it work.

Do you buy records online or by mail?
No — we buy in person only. Every collection gets evaluated by hand, and we pay cash on the spot. If you're outside our travel range, we can point you toward other options.
